Best of Louisville/Best Margarita

In full disclosure, my head is spinning slightly as I write this "Best of Louisville"/Best Margarita post. No, I did not drive home. I start this post with a warning... if you decide to act on my advice and partake in my "Best Margarita of Louisville" choice... this particular margarita can sneak up on you.

Excited about my new "Best of Louisville" blog and with the best of intention to blog daily, I headed to Havana Rumba http://www.havanarumbaonline.com to attempt to capture the essence and wonder of "The Swirl". (An excuse to eat and drink... I'm gonna love blogging!)

I admit The Swirl is not a new discovery, but an old love that has accompanied and sweetened many a joyous evening. In fact, when I put out the word that I would be blogging on the illustrious Havana Rumba Swirl margarita... I ended up with a table of friends ready to drink in her delights and sing her praises.

So, "The Swirl"... Havana Rumba's frozen margarita with a generous topping of sangria. The sweetness of the margarita and the tartness of the sangria.... a perfect combination! It's the sangria that makes it so potent. I've had the regular margarita and although delicious, it does not hold the same punch that I previously warned you about. Definitely add the rim of salt it enhances the overall flavor.

The city that I love...

Louisville. I am a home grown Louisville original... and I love this town! From Louisville's friendly folks, to her fabulous restaurants, to the arts and the parks, Louisville has far more flavor than visitors expect and far more fun than many people know. With all that's going on here... how can we all keep up?

I am one of the owners of City Taste Tours and spend most of my time driving tourists through the fun filled streets of Louisville, introducing them to the "Best of Louisville", and attempting to convey the magic that Louisville holds for those of us who live her and love her.

Since I am on a continual quest for the "best of Louisville", I thought I'd share this journey with you... and ask for your input. So as I eat and greet my way through Louisville, I'll share pics and bits from the food and the folks I meet along the way... and I ask you to do the same.
